Batam (Hotel Mercure 2D1N)

Happy National Day Singapore! Not that i don't like it here but a short getaway from this fast pace economy is great! =) Our first experience going on tour on our own. Yes, just the two of us in a world of total strangers. Except the fact the we rush like mad in the morning just so not to miss the boat ride to Batam, the whole trip went smooth. Kinda like our tour guide, professionalism and friendliness was there! Hotel staff was blur enough to gave us occupied rooms two times, perhaps we are the only unlucky ones. In return for the bad services, they got us a much bigger room. =) Room is spacious at a reasonable price, nice and clean bathroom, and a number of channels for us to watch. Facilities were so-so only with gym, spa, lounge, restaurant and a knee-height pool.. its pretty pathetic yea..

Their so-called biggest shopping mall in Batam - Nagoya Hill [15 to 30 mins walking distant from our hotel] has got nothing much to see.. their Cinema is a total failure.. =S Settled our first day lunch at A&W~  then bought a lot of snacks, cup noodle and drinks back to hotel. =) Enjoyed much!!


Day 1 - Free and Easy.. Day 2 - Guided Tour. So in day 2, they brought us for site-seeing and seafood restaurant for lunch. Ordered Cola but funny-looking "King Cola" can drink offered to us. LOL. Then Shopping at BCS mall. This mall is way better, least there's things to see, variety of food to eat. Their sweet cup corn is superb! Never tried Texas C. before. Have to agree that their pasta is Super Nice till we order a 2nd bowl. Chili sauce in Batam is nice too compared to fast food chili sauce in Singapore. yum yUM YUM!!!

along the way, i turned back and tell myself,
isn't it nice to realize we have come this far?
